∞ What is Hope Central?
Hope Central is part of the vision of Elim Ryedale Church inspired by Hope 08. Hope 08 is a national campaign to encourage churches to do it more, to do it together and to do it in word and deed. For more information about Hope 08 visit www.hope08.com. Our response to Hope 08 has been to develop Hope Central. Our desire is that Hope Central will be more than a building and will become a resource to bring help and fresh hope to our community.
Through Hope Central we aim to provide a welcoming, contemporary environment for local people to meet and access resources, training and support. We know the church can be viewed as a place that talks a lot but doesn’t do a lot. We want Hope Central to be a place that demonstrates we can ‘do’ as well as ‘talk’. We recognise that we can’t help everyone and aim to partner with many other great voluntary organisations in Ryedale and help people access their resources and facilities. We are not expecting everyone to come to Hope Central, we want to GO into the community. This may vary from helping someone to decorate to leading school assemblies.
We have also linked with Compassion www.compassionuk.org to find sponsors for 10 children. To sponsor a child it costs £18 a month and provides them with the means to break the cycle of poverty and create a viable future for themselves and their family. For more information click here!
